CHENGDU, China (August 8, 2025) – The duo of Maya Lissenkova (Las Vegas, Nev./AGC Las Vegas) and Katie Borcherding (Eureka, Mo./Incentive – AGT) were fourth in women’s pair acrobatic competition, and Elijah Vogel (Longmont, Colo./Xtreme Altitude Gymnastics) and Isaac Rowley (Allen, Texas/Wasatch Trampoline & Tumbling) turned in a fifth-place finish in synchronized trampoline on the first day of The World Games on Friday.

Lissenkova and Borcherding finished just off the podium in the women’s pair final with a score of 27.250 after their combined performance. The Americans landed just behind the duos from Belgium in first (28.620), Ukraine in second (28.270) and Portugal third (27.770).

In trampoline competition, Vogel and Rowley placed fifth in men’s synchro qualifying Friday morning with a 49.630, securing a first reserve spot to the final. The men’s pair from Portugal won the gold medal final with a 31.790 followed by the Netherlands in second with a 15.810. Germany won the bronze medal final with a 52.450 to land third.

Gymnastics action at The World Games continues Saturday, August 9 with Olivia Green (Silver Spring, Md./Xtreme Acro), Rebecca Greenberg (North Potomac, Md./Xtreme Acro) and Caylei Caldwell (Villa Ridge, Mo./Xtreme Acro) in acrobatic women’s group competition, Ruben Padilla (Bluffdale, Utah/Wasatch Trampoline & Tumbling) in men’s double mini trampoline and Nastia Katchalova (Lakeland, Fla./Elite World Gymnastics) in women’s tumbling beginning at 2 a.m. ET.
