INDIANAPOLIS, March 14, 2013 – Twelve men, including 2012 Olympians Danell Leyva of Miami/Universal Gymnastics, who won the bronze medal in the all-around in London, and Jake Dalton of Reno, Nev./University of Oklahoma, will represent the United States at international competitions this weekend. Competition at the Kyle Shewfelt Festival in Calgary, Canada, begins March 15, while competition at the French International gets underway on March 16.

Kyle Shewfelt Festival
Adrian de los Angeles of Long Beach, Calif./University of Michigan, Marvin Kimble of Milwaukee, Wis./Swiss Turners, Sean Melton of Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Olympic Training Center, and Akash Modi of Morganville, N.J./Monmouth Gymnastics will compete in the senior division of the Kyle Shewfelt Festival in Calgary, Canada, scheduled for March 15-17. The senior team will be coached by Vitaly Marinitch. Donnell Whittenburg of Baltimore, Md./Paragon Gymnastics of Virginia, is the alternate for the event.

The U.S. team competing in the junior division consists of Fabian DeLuna of Frisco, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics, Yul Moldauer of Arvada, Colo./5280 Gymnastics, David Jessen of East Greenwich, R.I./Rhode Island Sports Elite and Marty Strech of Fountain Valley, Calif./Azarian U.S. Gymnastics Training Center. Sergei Pakanich will coach the juniors and Tristan Burke of Royse City, Texas/WOGA, is the alternate for the junior team.

French International
Leyva and Dalton will lead the U.S. delegation at the 2013 French International in La Roche sur Yon, France, March 16-17. 2012 Olympic replacement athletes Steven Legendre of Port Jefferson, N.Y./ University of Oklahoma, and Alex Naddour of Gilbert, Ariz./ USA Youth Fitness, will also represent the United States in France. Mark Williams and Yin Alvarez will serve as coaches for the event.
