INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 24, 2011 – Two more gymnasts qualified for the 2011 Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup this past weekend. Mary Jane Horth of Akron, Ohio/Gymnastics World, and Kathryn Kluz of Wixom, Mich./Oakland Gymnastics Training Center, both qualified through the Circle of Stars Gymnastics Invitational, one of 17 invitationals in the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup Series. Ten gymnasts have now qualified for the Cup. The Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup Series continues this weekend with three more invitationals: Wisconsin Dells (Wis.) Gymnastics Vacation Classic, Metroplex Challenge in Ft. Worth, Texas, and Parkettes Invitational in Allentown, Pa.

Horth competed in the inaugural Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup, where she finished 28th in the all-around.

The balance of the 36-gymnast field will qualify from the remaining 12 invitationals in the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup Series, which features a total of 17 invitationals held throughout the United States from Jan. 14 through Feb. 21. A minimum of two gymnasts from each invitational advances to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup, scheduled for Friday, March 4, in conjunction with the AT&T American Cup in Jacksonville, Fla.

The second annual Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup is held the evening prior to the prestigious AT&T American Cup, using the event’s podium. This year’s Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup will be televised live on Universal Sports. Gymnasts who compete in the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup will receive a Nastia Liukin-designed leotard and a warm-up from GK Elite; two tickets to the AT&T American Cup and recognition during the event; and the opportunity to meet Liukin and participate in a team photo.
