COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., May 5, 2016 – The U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., is playing host to trampoline and tumbling’s 2016 Elite Challenge, which begins Friday and wraps up on May 8. The three-day event features competition in trampoline, tumbling, double mini-trampoline and synchronized trampoline for men’s and women’s senior, junior, youth elite, open elite and Level 10 (10-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18).

The senior trampoline field features many of the country’s top athletes, including Nicole Ahsinger of Lafayette, La./T&T Express, Charlotte Drury of Laguna Niguel, Calif./World Elite, Shaylee Dunavin of Lafayette, La./T&T Express, Dakota Earnest of Plains, Texas/T&T Express, Clare Johnson of the Huntsville, Ala./Matrix Gym, Logan Dooley of Lake Forest, Calif/World Elite, Jeffrey Gluckstein of Atlantic Highlands, N.J./Elite Trampoline Academy, Steven Gluckstein of Atlantic Highlands, N.J./Elite Trampoline Academy, and Aliaksei Shostak of Lafayette, La./T&T Express. Participants in the senior level trampoline competition are eligible to earn Olympic selection points based on performance at the Elite Challenge. The bonus points will be added to scores earned at the USA Gymnastics Championships, June 8-13, in Providence, R.I. For more information, click here (Section 1.3.1).

The competition schedule follows (times are MT).

  • May 6, preliminaries – 9 a.m.-12:45 p.m., trampoline (men’s and women’s youth elite, junior, open and Level 10) and double mini-trampoline (men’s and women’s junior, youth elite, open and senior), and 1:45-9 p.m., trampoline (men’s and women’s senior, Level 10), tumbling (men’s and women’s senior, junior, youth elite, open and Level 10) and synchronized trampoline (men’s and women’s youth elite, junior, senior and open)
  • May 7 – 9 a.m.-4 p.m., prelims for trampoline (youth elite, open and Level 10) and double mini-trampoline (Level 10), 5-6:40 p.m., finals for trampoline (senior, youth elite and juniors), tumbling (junior, youth elite, open) and double-mini (senior, junior, youth elite and open), and 7:40-9 p.m., finals for trampoline (junior, youth elite, open), tumbling (senior) and double-mini (youth elite, open, Level 10)
  • May 8 – 9 a.m.-1:20 p.m., Level 10 finals for trampoline, tumbling, double-mini and synchronized trampoline
