KITAKYUSHU, Japan, October 25, 2021 – Less than three months after competing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, individual gymnasts Evita Griskenas of Orland Park, Ill., and Lili Mizuno of Northbrook, Ill., and group competitor Camilla Feeley of Northbrook, Ill., are set to lead a young and hungry contingent of U.S. athletes at the 2021 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships this week in Kitakyushu, Japan.

During the brief window between competitions, Mizuno made the difficult transition from group to individual gymnast and will look to establish her presence as a solo performer. She and Griskenas will be joined in the individual competition by Erica Foster of Chanhassen, Minn.

On the group side, the U.S. will be represented by Feeley and a collective of fresh young talent making their World Championships debuts. Team members include Isabella Ivanova of Kirkland, Wash., Nicole Khoma of Northbrook, Ill., Olympic alternate Gergana Petkova of Barrington, Ill., Karolina Saverino of Elk Grove Village, Ill., and Emily Wilson of Brooklyn, N.Y. Hana Starkman of Plantation, Fla., is the traveling alternate.

Individual qualifications will run October 27-28. U.S. gymnasts will compete in Group B, starting at 11:55 a.m. local time on Wednesday and 10 a.m. on Thursday. Individual gymnasts compete on four apparatus: hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. The hoop and ball finals will be held October 27 at 7:15 and 7:57 p.m., while the clubs and ribbon finals are slated for the same times on October 28. The all-around final will kick off October 30 at 2:30 p.m. local time. Japan is 13 hours ahead of eastern time in the U.S.

Group qualifications and the all-around competition will be held October 29 at 4:50 p.m. local time. Apparatus finals are set for October 31 at 5:30 p.m. Groups perform with two apparatus combinations: five balls and three hoops with two pairs of clubs.

Podium training began October 25 with U.S. individual gymnasts able to train on the main competition floor from 1:45-2:15 p.m. local time. Podium training for the U.S. group will take place October 26 from 1:30-2 p.m.
