ITHACA, N.Y. (April 9, 2022) – Texas Woman’s University claimed its 12th national team title and its first since 2018 Saturday at the 2022 USA Gymnastics Women’s Collegiate National Championships at Cornell University.

Led by Madeline Gose’s top score of 9.925 on the floor, TWU put up a combined 196.025 to finish ahead of Air Force in second (195.650), Lindenwood in third (194.600) and Brown in fourth (193.300).

TWU had entered Saturday’s final team competition as the #2 qualifier from Friday’s prelims with 194.700, but they upped their game substantially on Saturday for a convincing victory.

The vault proved to be the decisive event for the Owls, with Emerson Adams finishing second (9.900), and Steelie King (9.850) and Sierra Muns (9.850) tying for third.

Each of the four teams had an athlete atop the apparatus scores. Air Force was led by Briona Carswell’s top placing on beam (9.900), while Lindenwood’s Gayla Griswold was best in vault (9.925) and Brown’s Mel Li Costa led the uneven bars (9.900).

Sunday will feature individual event competition. Finalists are listed below alphabetically by apparatus. Reigning beam champion Anna Kaziska of Southeast Missouri State and floor champion Isabel Goyco of TWU will look to defend their 2021 titles beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
