USA Gymnastics has been in contact with the University of Illinois-Chicago to see how we can help with efforts to change the university’s decision to no longer offer men’s and women’s gymnastics after the 2018-19 season. Competing on the collegiate level is a dream for many of USA Gymnastics’ athletes, and we hope the community will join together to assist UIC so their gymnastics program can continue after this season.

To the Community of Gymnasts and Gymnastics Fans:

Thank you for the outpouring of support over the past 31 days as we lobby to #flipthedecision to drop the UIC Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics programs after the 2019 season. Your e-mails and phone calls since the decision was announced has shown the broad base of support that UIC has enjoyed for over 70 years!

We expect the process toward reinstatement to take a while. During this time UIC Gymnastics needs your continued assistance. This October we are asking you to make a 94¢ commitment to UIC Gymnastics. By purchasing two first class postage stamps then writing and mailing a letter to the UIC Chancellor and the UIC Athletic Director you will help provide a physical show of support for the two programs.

Please plan to mail your letters on Saturday, October 13, so that they will arrive on Monday 15.

You can write a letter of your own or use one of the sample letters (Klassy Letter | Amiridis Letter), and send the letters to the following UIC administrators.

Garrett Klassy
UIC Director of Athletics
839 W. Roosevelt Rd
Chicago, IL 60607

Dr. Michael Amiridis
Chancellor, University of Illinois at Chicago
2833 University Hall
601 S. Morgan St.

Thank you for continuing to support NCAA Gymnastics!
