FORT WORTH, Texas, April 15, 2016 – Bridget Sloan of the University of Florida won the all-around title at the 2016 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships at the Fort Worth (Texas) Convention Center Arena. Tonight’s competition also served as the individual event finals, as well as the team qualification round with six teams advancing to the Super Six finals on Saturday.

In the first session, the University of Florida earned a 197.475, followed by Louisiana State University (197.3375), and the University of Georgia (196.725). All three teams advanced to tomorrow’s Super Six finals.

The University of Oklahoma, the University of Alabama and the University of California – Los Angeles advanced from the second of two national semifinals. Oklahoma posted the top score with a 197.7875, with Alabama close behind at 197.3875. UCLA finished with a 196.700 to grab the final Super Six berth.

En route to the all-around win, Sloan earned 9.900, vault; 9.950, uneven bars; 9.950, balance beam; and 9.900, floor exercise. Her 39.700 edged out Oklahoma’s Chayse Capps, who placed second with a 39.6125. LSU’s Mia Hambrick was third (39.5625).

On the vault, Brandie Jay of Georgia and Katie Bailey of Alabama shared the title, each scoring a 9.95. LSU’s Ashleigh Gnat and Nebraska’s Hollie Blanske tied for third at 9.925.

Sloan and Georgia’s Brittany Rogers shared the uneven bars title with matching 9.950 marks. McKenzie Wofford of Oklahoma was third with a 9.9375.

UCLA’s Danusia Francis and Sloan shared the balance beam title with a pair of 9.950s. Oklahoma’s Natalie Brown took third at 9.925.

The University of Denver’s Nina McGee claimed the floor exercise crown with a 9.950. Hambrick placed second (9.925), followed by AJ Jackson of Oklahoma in third (9.9125).

The competition continues Saturday night at 9 p.m. ET with the Super Six, when the NCAA team title will be decided.
