Star Bound Gymnastics Academy in Bridgeton, NJ, held its 16th Annual Star Struck Invitational in January, hosting 2,100 athletes at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Star Bound Gymnastics Academy is a family based gymnastics school, firmly grounded by its morals and dedication to the youth it serves. In an effort to give back to the community, 12 years ago Star Bound began donating partial proceeds from the Star Struck Invitational to the St. Jude Foundation. Star Bound has increased its donations annually and was proud to donate $10,000 this year.

The coaches and gymnasts at Star Bound Gymnastics presented the $10,000 check to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Co-owners, Amy Middlekauff, Lisa Battavio and Lori Carroll-Rieger commented, “We just want to help support kids who are less fortunate. We’re very lucky to have a healthy group of kids here at Star Bound. It is very rewarding to see the donation go to those children who need our help.”

Hospital spokeswoman Yohanna De Los Santos said the hospitals daily costs are roughly $1.8 million per year and that 81 cents of every dollar donated goes towards research. “Every single dollar counts.”

In addition to the donation to St. Jude’s, Star Bound also ran a food drive at the Star Struck competition and donated 215 pounds of food to the Hurricane Sandy Relief.
