COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 16, 2016 – Tonight, the men’s team, all-around and individual event champions will be determined at the 2016 NCAA National Championships for men’s gymnastics at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, at 7 p.m. ET. The six schools competing in the team finals are Ohio State University, Pennsylvania State University, Stanford University, University of Illinois, University of Minnesota, and University of Oklahoma, the defending champion.

Competing in session one, Oklahoma posted the session’s top team score of 441.200. Minnesota tallied a 426.400, followed by Penn State at 423.950. The other schools competing in the team competition in this session were the University of Nebraska, fourth at 423.550; University of California – Berkeley, 421.350, fifth; and the U.S. Naval Academy, 410.100, sixth.

In session two, Stanford posted the highest team score with 434.350, followed by Ohio State at 433.400. Illinois was third at 432.050. The University of Iowa was fourth, posting a 423.250; University of Michigan, fifth, 422.150; and U.S. Air Force Academy, 412.650, sixth.

In the all-around, Cal Berkeley’s Kevin Wolting posted the first session’s top mark of 87.100. Penn State’s Trevor Howard earned an 85.650, and Minnesota’s Tristan Duran rounded out the session’s top three with a 84.900. Michigan’s Dmitri Belanovski had the second session’s top score of 85.400, with Iowa’s Matthew Loochtan next at 84.850 and then Illinois’ Alex Diab at 84.800.

This is the first time all of the finals are held in the same session.
