On Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, Pittsboro, Indiana, native Bridget Sloan was recognized by the Indiana state legislature at the capitol building in Indianapolis. A joint resolution, presented by Republican House Representatives Jeff Thompson of District 28 and Greg Steuerwald of District 40 and Senate Representative Phil Boots, passed in both the Indiana House and Senate honoring Sloan for winning the 2009 world all-around gold medal, as well as her 2009 U.S. all-around title, 2008 Olympic team silver medal, and other accomplishments.

“I was honored and proud to compete oversees and represent my country,” said Sloan. “And I am very honored to say that I am proud to be a Hoosier.”
