COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., July 7, 2019 – Crew Bold of Delray Beach, Fla./University of Minnesota, had the junior’s highest combined score following today’s technical sequences at the 2019 Men’s National Qualifier at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Bold is one of six juniors who qualified to compete in the junior competition at the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Kansas City, Mo., Aug. 8-11.
In addition to Bold, the remaining five who qualified for Kansas City are: Michael Artlip of Bellaire, Texas/Houston Gymnastics Center; Mikey Kogan of Vernon Hills, Ill./Buffalo Grove Gymnastics; Steven Lukasik of Lutz, Fla./La Fleur’s; Logan Myers of Morrison, Colo./5280 Gymnastics; and Kameron Nelson of Jackson, Tenn./Arrow Athletic Center. The top six age-eligible juniors from the junior elite division at the 2019 National Qualifier qualified using the 15-16 and 17-18 age divisions combined-rank-order all-around results (optional plus technical sequence score).
Bold’s total of 129.900 yielded first place in the combined scores. The combined scores for the top six were: Myers, second, 126.850; Lukasik, third, 126.000; Kogan, fourth, 125.700; Artlip, fifth, 124.350; and Nelson, sixth, 124.000.
Also, the top 22 athletes from the 15-16 junior elite age division from the all-around finals at the 2019 Junior Olympic National Championships and the top 14 athletes from the 17-18 junior elite age division from the all-around finals at the 2019 Junior Olympic National Championships qualified to the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championships. This will total approximately 42 athletes in two age divisions.
