INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., June 24, 2005 – Alexander Artemev of Morrison, Colo., dislocated his right shoulder earlier this week during training and will undergo corrective surgery. He is expected to be able to return to training and competition in two to four months. As a result, Artemev, a member of the men’s national team for two years, will miss the 2005 Visa Championships. His status for the 2005 World Gymnastics Championships, Nov. 20-27 in Melbourne, Australia, has yet to be determined.

Artemev won the pommel horse and placed second in floor exercise at the 2005 American Cup. He was the 2004 national parallel bars champion.
