INDIANAPOLIS, April 10, 2011 – 2010 U.S. all-around junior champion Rebecca Sereda of Staten Island, N.Y., won the junior ball gold medal, as well as two silver and one bronze, at the Irinia Deleanu Orange Trophy in Bucharest, Romania. The USA’s Serena Lu of Blaine, Minn., also earned three junior medals at the International Pas-de-Calais Tournament in Calais, France. In several other international age-group rhythmic gymnastics competitions, gymnasts from the United States brought home four additional medals.

Sereda, who trains at Isadora, won the ball title with her 25.300, followed by Russia’s Alexandra Soldatova at 25.275 and Ukraine’s Anastasiya Mulmina at 24.600. Sereda also finished second in both the hoop (24.350) and clubs (24.425), as well as third in the all-around. Soldatova also won the all-around, hoop and ribbon titles, with the clubs gold going to Russia’s Ekaterina Chukalina. The USA’s Polina Kozitskiy of Fountainville, Pa./Philadelphia Rhythmic Academy, competed in the senior all-around, where she finished in 12th place.

At the International Pas-de-Calais Tournament in Calais, France, Lu, who trains at Isadora, won three junior medals – bronze in the all-around (87.558), and silver for both hoop (23.392) and ball (23.767). Lu also finished fourth in ribbon and rope. The USA’s Alexis Page of New York City/Aviator Sports and Recreation, competed in the senior all-around, where she was seventh.

Aria Rodli of San Diego, Calif./Emerald City Academy Of Rhythmic, competed in the recent Huelva (Spain) Trophy, where she was seventh in the all-around and sixth in the ribbon final. Camden May of Encino, Calif./California Rhythms, competed in the age-group competition, where she won three medals, including a gold.

Pre-junior Brigita Budginas of Agoura Hills, Calif./Platinum Gymnastics Academy, finished third and Camilla Feeley of Germantown, Md./Elegance Gymnastics, took fourth in the all-around at the Poland Spring Tournament. Two Eurogymnastics gymnasts won medals at the Rumi Alben Tournament in Varna, Bulgaria: Desiree Ayala of Manhattan Beach, Calif., finished second in ball and third in ribbon in the Hope Division, while Gabrielle Lowenstein of Huntington Beach, Calif., took silver in junior ribbon.
