COTTBUS, Germany, March 24, 2012 – John Orozco of the Bronx, N.Y./Team Hilton HHonors, and Paul Ruggeri of Manlius, N.Y./University of Illinois, will compete on the final day of event finals at the 2012 World Cup in Cottbus, Germany. Ruggeri will compete in the vault finals and both Orozco and Ruggeri qualified for the horizontal bar finals on March 25.
Earlier today Jesse Silverstein of Spring Valley, N.Y./Gymnastics Development Center II, and Orozco competed in the still rings final, finishing sixth and eighth, respectively. Silverstein posted a 15.025, and Orozco, who trains at the U.S. Olympic Training Center, earned a 14.400. China’s Chen Yibing was first at 15.675, followed by Brazil’s Arthur Nabarrete Zanetti at 15.600 and Greece’s Eleftherios Petrounias at 15.550.
