INDIANAPOLIS, May 6, 2013 – Paul Ruggieri of Manlius, N.Y./U.S. Gymnastics Development Center II, and Peyton Ernst of Coppell, Texas/Texas Dreams Gymnastics, have been nominated for the U.S. Olympic Committee’s April Male and Female Athletes of the Month, respectively. Fans can vote for Ruggier here and Ernst here. Voting ends tomorrow, Tuesday, May 7.

Ruggeri won two gold medals at the 2013 FIG World Cup, held April 27-28 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. With a score of 14.912, Ruggeri took home the vault gold medal. On the high bar, he tied for first at 14.975, while he finished seventh in the floor exercise final.

Ernstwon the all-around silver medal with a combined score of 56.550 at the 2013 World Cup, held April 7 in Tokyo. Ernst posted scores of 15.125 on vault, 14.175 on uneven bars, 13.375 on balance beam and 13.875 on floor exercise in her silver-medal effort.
