PHOENIX (August 8, 2026) – In his fifth senior season, 22-year-old Frederick Richard (Stoughton, Mass./University of Michigan) claimed his first U.S. all-around title Saturday evening at the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships.

A three-time NCAA all-around champion at the University of Michigan, Richard made his first U.S. title one to remember, taking the gold with a score of 170.015 that put him nearly three points ahead of the rest of the field. He added a title on floor exercise with his two-day score of 28.916, to take his second career U.S. win on the apparatus.

Sharing the all-around podium were Shane Wiskus (Spring Park, Minn./EVO Gymnastics) and Danila Leykin (Sarasota, Fla./EVO Gymnastics), who each earned their first senior U.S. all-around medals. The 27-year-old Wiskus took silver with a 167.964, followed by the 19-year-old Leykin, who won bronze with 167.001. Leykin also won the silver medal on horizontal bar with a 29.571 and bronze on parallel bars with a 29.571.

After finishing top five in the all-around, Cooper Kim (Grand Ledge, Mich./Stanford University) was the best of the competition on high bar with a 30.936 to post the highest two-day score of the championships on any apparatus. Patrick Hoopes (Lehi, Utah/U.S. Air Force Academy) maintained his sizable lead on pommel horse through Saturday’s competition to win his second-consecutive U.S. title on the apparatus. The 2025 World bronze medalist put up two 15+ scores across both days of action to win with a combined 30.816.

Asher Cohen (Lakewood, Colo./University of Nebraska) and Yul Moldauer (Arvada, Colo./University of Oklahoma) each finished just shy of the 30-point mark for their two-day apparatus totals, with Cohen winning still rings gold with a 29.950 and Moldauer parallel bars gold with a 29.986. Kameron Nelson (Columbus, Ohio/EVO Gymnastics) cleaned up shop on vault with his two-day vault average of 28.745 to win.

USA Gymnastics’ Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships conclude Sunday, August 9 with junior women’s competition beginning at 10 a.m. MST.
