GUATEMALA CITY, Gua. (June 7, 2024) – U.S. juniors brought in eight more medals Friday afternoon, half of them gold, at the 2024 Rhythmic Pan American Games in Guatemala City, while seniors took the floor for the first time.

Isabella Chong (Mission Viejo, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics), Josephine Weber (Woodland Hills, Calif./Rhythmic Academy of Los Angeles) and Riko Kawai (Los Angeles, Calif./Rhythmic Academy of Los Angeles) all claimed two individual medals in their respective divisions on Friday. Chong won the junior hoop final with a 29.150 and earned silver on ball with a 29.300, second only to fellow American Natalia de la Rosa (Woodland Hills, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics), who won gold on the apparatus with a 32.100. Weber was the 13-year-old hoop champion with a 29.700 and took ball silver with a 27.400, while Kawai clinched clubs gold among the 13-year-olds with a 26.300 and ribbon bronze with a 25.100.

In group competition, Claire Glukhovsky (West Hills, Calif.), Sasha Kuliyev (Granada hills, Calif.), Joy Lee (Henderson, Nev.), Natalia Serobian (Glendale, Calif.), Aurora Sullivan (Los Angeles, CA) and Katerina Levit (Granada hills, Calif.) won all-around bronze with a combined 54.150. The group will compete in both the five hoops and five clubs finals on Saturday.

U.S. seniors also were in action Friday. Rin Keys (Porter Ranch, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) and Megan Chu (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) currently sit first (65.300) and second (63.700) in the all-around. Keys also qualified in first to the hoop (33.450) and ball final (31,850), while Chu qualified No. 2 on hoop (32.250) and ball (31.450). Jaelyn Chin (Aventura, Fla./Bessonova’s school) had the third-highest score on hoop (32.200) but will not advance to the final due to the two-per-country rule. Alexandria Kautzman (Simi Valley, Calif./California Rhythms) ranked sixth on ball with a 27.650.
