The event will feature three rounds of competition beginning with eight teams/countries. Two men and two women per country will compete in each round with one male athlete and one female athlete competing alternately in each rotation. One team will be eliminated following Round 1, two teams eliminated after Round 2, and the four remaining teams will compete for the podium.
The four scores from each athlete on a team will be added up to determine the team score – no scores will be dropped. Team scores will not carry over between rounds.
