INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Dec. 4, 2008 – The U.S. senior rhythmic gymnastics group from North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center in Glenview, Ill., is defending its U.S. title at the 2008 Rhythmic Gymnastics Group National Championships, Dec. 6, at the Plainfield Recreation & Aquatic Center in Plainfield, Ind.

The Rhythmic Gymnastics Group National Championships features competition in both junior and senior elite, as well as at the Junior Olympic level. The junior elite groups will perform two routines (hoop and ribbon), and the senior elite group will perform a hoop routine. The Junior Olympic groups will compete two routines (floor and ball/hoop).

The Group National Championships begins at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults age 13 and older, and $5 for children ages 5-12. Admission is free for children age 4 and younger. Current USA Gymnastics athletes and professional members who present their USA Gymnastics member card will receive a $2 discount on admission.

More than 50 gymnasts will compete at the Little Snowflake Invitational, which will be held in conjunction with the Group National Championships. Competition in Levels 4-6 begins at 10:30 a.m.
