RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (June 24, 2022) – Paul Bretscher (Huntsville, Ala./Merino Trampoline Gymnastics Academy) and Trevor Harder (Winston Salem, N.C./Caroline Elite Trampoline Academy) will kick off a busy month of Pan-American competition for U.S. athletes this Sunday in Brazil, as the 2022 Pan American Championships get underway. More than 100 gymnasts from ten countries will take part across the three days of competition. Trampoline and tumbling is the first of four gymnastics disciplines on the docket from June 26 to July 17 at Rio de Janeiro’s Parque Olimpico – Arena Carioca 1.

Bretscher, a two-time national synchronized trampoline champion, will focus solely on trampoline, while Harder, who is the reigning U.S. gold medalist on double mini, will take on both the trampoline and double mini fields. The two will join forces for the men’s synchronized trampoline competition. The top-eight finishers on each apparatus, limited to two per country in individual events and one per country in synchro, will advance to Tuesday’s finals round.

Three sessions of men’s individual trampoline qualifications lead off Sunday, June 26 at 10:20 a.m. ET. U.S. athletes will compete in Group 2, beginning at 11 a.m. ET. Double mini and synchro qualifications will take place Monday, June 27 at 9:40 a.m. and 11 a.m. ET, respectively. The synchro final is set for Tuesday, June 28 at 8:40 a.m. ET followed by the men’s double mini final 10 a.m. ET. The competition will conclude with individual trampoline finals at 11:20 a.m. ET.

The Rhythmic Junior and Senior Pan American Championships are next up July 7-10 with Men’s and Women’s Artistic Junior and Senior Pan American Championships slated for July 15-17.
