2018 Rhythmic Open Group Camp

Camp Objectives
  • The theme for our 2018 Open Camp is “All About Group!” in preparation for the 2021 required level 4 group routines and growing USA group program. This camp will focus on providing technical resources, all centered around group.
  • All US rhythmic athletes, coaches, and judges have an opportunity to experience the rhythmic training facilities at the US Olympic Training Center
  • All US rhythmic athletes, coaches, and judges have an opportunity to work with national staff
  • Celebrate and enjoy Rhythmic Gymnastics in the USA!
  • Individual gymnasts welcome! This camp is an excellent development opportunity for individual gymnasts, as well as group gymnasts. Individual gymnasts will have the opportunity to improve coordination, body, apparatus and dance technique, spatial awareness, mental strength and teamwork while HAVING FUN and trying new skills!
Travel Airport - Albany (ALB)
Arrival
    November 29
    • Flights must arrive in ALB by 5:00pm for OTC transportation.
    • Participants providing their own transportation may check into the OTC between 3:00pm-7:30pm.
Departure
    December 3:
    • Flights must depart at 12pm or later for OTC transportation.
    • OTC check-out is 9am
Transportation
    Coaches/Athletes requesting transportation between the Albany Airport and OTC should use group processing to register for “2018 Open Camp Transportation”: .

    The OTC will do their best to accommodate flights that meet the guidelines below. In the case that they cannot accommodate, the transportation fee will be refunded.

    Note: In the case of a flight delay when participants are scheduled for OTC transportation, it is the parent/club’s responsibility to provide Safe Sport compliant transportation from the airport to the OTC. USA Gymnastics will work with the OTC to accommodate the delayed participants on a later shuttle if possible or, in the case of a minor delay, may postpone the shuttle’s departure, however, this cannot be guaranteed nor expected. USA Gymnastics is not responsible for delayed flights that cause participants to arrive after shuttle departure times. Full responsibility for the participants’ transportation to/from camp falls on the parents/club.

    OTC check-in time for those providing their own transportation is 3:00pm-7:30pm.
Accommodations - OTC Beds FULL as of Oct 18
  • Lodging and meals are provided at the OTC for all registrants age 10 and older.
  • 9-year old participants are welcome, however, they must travel with a parent and stay at a local hotel.
  • If all OTC beds fill, additional participants will have the option of staying at a local hotel with meals provided at the OTC.

  • Ballet (including an optional coach-ballet session!)
  • Dance training in a variety of styles
  • Warm-up/conditioning
  • Technical content (technique, group skills)
  • Evening activities
  • Additional educational sessions for coaches and judges

What To Bring
  • Athletes: All apparatus; fitted training attire, water bottle

Discounts Club Discounts Available
  • Clubs with 5-9 athletes attending receive a $100 coach discount
  • Clubs with 10 or more athletes in attendance will receive 1 complimentary coach registration

Additional Info
  • Minimum age 9 years-old at the time of the camp
  • All athletes must participate with a coach from their club
  • Coaches are welcome to register and participate, even if they do not have an athlete from their club in attendance.
  • Judges are welcome to register and participate for CPE Credits (see details below)
  • All athlete, coaches, and judges must be current USA Gymnastics Athlete/Professional Members for the 2018-2019 season.
  • Both athletes and coaches must submit the a waiver form. This form will be emailed out directly from the OTC prior to the event. It will come from an “assuresign” email address. If you have already submitted an OTC waiver this year, you will not need to do this again.
CPE Credits The 2018 Rhythmic Open Group Camp is an opportunity for judges to earn 10 CPE clinic credits. Click here for Judging Continuing Professional Education Requirements.
Refunds 50% refunds will be provided only in the case of illness/injury verified by a doctor’s note.
