INDIANAPOLIS, April 5, 2012 – 2012 Kellogg’s Pacific Rim all-around champions Jordyn Wieber of DeWitt, Mich./Gedderts’ Twistars USA, and Chris Brooks of Houston/Team Hilton HHonors (Cypress Gymnastics), have been nominated for Male and Female USOC Athletes of the Month for March, respectively. In March, Wieber, who is the reigning all-around World Champion, won the all-around titles at both the AT&T American Cup and the Kellogg’s Pacific Rim Championships, where she also helped the United States to a decisive victory in the team competition. Wieber also claimed the gold medal on the floor exercise at the Pacific Rim Championships.

Brooks, who served as the U.S. team alternate at the 2012 World Championships, helped lead Team USA to a first-place finish at the Kellogg’s Pacific Rim Championships last month, while also claiming the all-around gold medal. In the event finals, Brooks brought home three more medals (high bar, still rings, gold; pommel horse, silver) for a total of five medals at the event.
