Synchronized trampoline titles decided at 2012 T&T Elite Challenge

TULSA, Okla., March 30, 2012 – Audrey Ghanian of Holmdel, N.J/ETA, and Deana Parris of Burtonsville, Md./Fairland Gymnastics, senior women, and Steven Gluckstein of Atlantic Highlands, N.J./ETA, and Logan Dooley of Lake Forest, Calif./World Elite Gymnastics, senior men, claimed the synchronized trampoline titles on the first day of the 2012 T&T Elite Challenge, held at the Tulsa Convention Center Arena in Tulsa, Okla.

Ghanian and Parris earned the senior women's synchronized title, scoring 35.200 in the finals after executing a double front pike Rudi out to double back opening sequence. The duo earned a total score of 108.000 with a 35.700 compulsory mark and 37.100 optional score. Nani Vercruyssen of Honolulu/Hawaii Academy, and Savannah Vinsant of Lafayette, La./T&T Express, finished second (100.400) and Alaina Williams of Norman, Oklahoma, and Dakota Earnest of Plains, Texas, who both train at Acrospirits, rounded out the top three with a 31.600.

Posting a 134.500 total with a 48.600 score in the finals, Gluckstein and Dooley took the top spot in the men's synchronized trampoline competition finishing their finals performance with a triple twisting, double layout. In the compulsory round, Gluckstein and Dooley earned a 38.900, while in the optionals, the pair posted a 47.000. Jeffrey Gluckstein of Atlantic Highlands, N.J./ETA, and Michael Devine of Winnebago, Ill./J&J Tumbling and Trampoline, took the silver medal, 128.900, and Hunter Brewster of Lafayette, La./T&T Express, and Neil Gulati of Irvine, Calif./World Elite Gymnastics, took the bronze, scoring 109.000.

In the junior competition, Joseph Kozlowski of Avondale, Pa./ETA, and Cody Gesuelli of Middletown, N.J./ETA, won the junior men's synchronized competition with a 120.300 total. For the women, Meghan O'Connell of Middletown, N.J./ETA, and Erynn Stier of Morley, Mich./Branch Gymnastics, took the junior women's title, earning a combined score of 124.4.00.

Competition continues this afternoon with competition in junior and senior elite individual trampoline, double mini-trampoline and tumbling.
