USA Gymnastics prepares to launch changes to online registration system processing

USA Gymnastics is excited to announce the use of a more effective and user-friendly online registration system for our members. We are hopeful these changes make our online registration system processes much more efficient and simpler to use for our members.

The changes in our system will revolutionize the way our members, club owners and meet directors use the USA Gymnastics website to search and update not just their own membership, but those that are affiliated with their clubs.

March 2011 is the tentative date for the phase 1 of this implementation to take place. In order to be fully prepared for the launch we are requesting that all members ensure that their contact information is correct in our database.

Please take a moment to review and update your contact information by clicking here. *Please use your member number and password.

Special Notice to Member Clubs: to further ensure that you are ready for the upcoming changes please ensure that your Member Club information has an owner and primary contact listed on your Member Club account. You can review your member club information by clicking here.

All members are encouraged to contact Member Services at 800-345-4719 or membership@usagym.org in order to inquire about both your personal and member club accounts.

Thank you for taking a moment to review and update your accounts!

Risk management through facility management
"Order is never observed; it is disorder that attracts attention because it is awkward and intrusive."
- Eliphas Levi

The facility can be divided into external and internal areas. Each area has specific qualities that require routine maintenance and inspection. Is your gym lobby clean and safe? Are the external parts of your building and grounds safe? The facility is one of the most important and controllable factors in risk management.

Internal Safety- Keep in mind that walls, ceilings and floors in the gym should be contrasted with all gymnastics equipment. Also cement floors need to be safely sealed to prevent moisture from seeping-through, which can make floors slippery and dangerous.

External Safety - Special precaution should be given to specific areas especially during the winter months. These areas include; street entrances and exits, parking areas, loading docks, sidewalk entrances and exits to the building. These areas should have clear signage and reasonable care should be taken to keep areas free of debris.

These and other key facility management principles can be found in the edition of the Gymnastics Risk Management Safety Course Handbook, now available through the USA Gymnastics technical materials online store.
