In memory of Janet Von Bargen

The acro program will dearly miss one of its highest ranking judges. Janet Von Bargen passed away on August 11, 2006.

Janet began her involvement with acrobatic gymnastics as a judge in 1988. She worked her way up through the judging ranks of USA Gymnastics/USSA and the FIG always demonstrating her strong technical knowledge and professionalism. She held her Category II international judges brevet and was heavily involved with judging activities in her region, and at the national and international levels.

Janet also filled many leadership roles throughout her acro career. She was a member of the National Technical Committee, Region 7 Technical Committee Chair, and spent many years as a member of Region 7's Board. Janet was instrumental in the growth and progress of acro in Region 7 as well as throughout the country. She worked hard to continually educate coaches and judges, often paying her own expenses to travel to national-level competitions and clincs. Janet was also instrumental as a judge and official with numerous international delegations.

Janet did all of these wonderful things for the love of the sport and the advancement of our athletes. The acro program greatly appreciates all Janet offered to our program and we will miss her.
