ZIONSVILLE, Ind., June 29, 2010 – The 2010 U.S. Gymnastics for All National Championships featured three different competitions: TeamGym Nationals, the competitive side of group gymnastics; National GymFest, a non-competitive program for performance or display gymnastics; and the USA Gymnastics for All Challenge, where groups perform for recognition. The three-day event was held at Interactive Academy and Gymnastics in Zionsville, Ind.

TeamGym Nationals
Biron’s Gymnastics of Houston won the titles for both Level 6 and 7. Fliptastic! of Carmichael, Calif., took top honors for Level 5, with the Level 4 crown going to La Jolla (Calif.) YMCA. Berks East Gymnastics was first for Levels 2 and 3. DeVeau’s Gymnastics of Fishers, Ind., was the champion for Level 1.

TeamGym is the competitive side of group gymnastics. Squads of athletes perform in two events: group floor exercise and group jump. Although there are 10 difficult levels in TeamGym, Levels 1-7 were contested at the 2010 national championships. Level 1 is the introductory level.

USA Gymnastics for All Challenge
Held for the second year, groups perform GymFest-type performance displays in the USA Gymnastics for All Challenge before a panel of expert evaluators, who will designate one of three levels of recognition: Gold, Silver, or Bronze. Biron’s Gymnastics and La Jolla YMCA both earned gold designations, and Berks East Gymnastics was recognized with the silver. Biron Gymnastics also won the Judges’ Choice Award.
