Field set for 2010 Rhythmic Challenge

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Feb. 11, 2010 Acaa 2007 Pan American Games silver-medalist in ribbon Julie Zetlin of Bethesda, Md./Rhythmflex, and 2009 Junior Pan-American all-around champion Rebecca Sereda of Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora, are among the 15 elite rhythmic gymnasts scheduled to compete in the 2010 Rhythmic Challenge, the first national rhythmic competition of 2010, Feb. 13-14 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The event results will be used to select the first 2010 international assignments.

In addition to Zetlin and Sereda, the other national team members competing in the Rhythmic Challenge are: seniors Acaa JoAnna Arnold of Northville, Mich./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, Jessica Bogdanov of Brooklyn, N.Y./Isadora, Shelby Kisiel of Houston, Texas / North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, Lyrica Okano of New York, N.Y./Aviator Sports And Recreation, Olga Pavlenko of Brooklyn, N.Y./ Isadora, and Anastasia Torba of Orinda, Calif./Allegro Rhythmic ; and juniors AcaaJazzy Kerber of Highland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, Megan Kincaid of Los Angeles/California Rhythms, Polina Kozitsky of Fountainville, Pa./Philadelphia Rhythmic Academy, Alexis Page of New York/Aviator Sports And Recreation, and Amanda Tran of Shoreline, Wash./Kortel Academy Of Gymnastics.

An additional 24 senior and 38 junior rhythmic gymnasts will also be in Colorado Springs to participate in the Rhythmic Invitational and Group Championships, competitions for Levels 7-10, to be held Feb. 11-14 in conjunction with the Rhythmic Challenge. Both the Challenge and Invitational events will feature an all-around format. The Rhythmic Challenge begins at 7 p.m. MT, Feb. 13 in Sports Center 1 at the USOTC.
