INDIANAPOLIS (February 4, 2023) – Reigning champion Region 1 is among three teams to announce preliminary 2023 Elite Team Cup rosters this week. Region 1, which spans Arizona, California, Hawaii and Nevada, will return four gymnasts – Colin Flores, Tyler Flores, Zachary Green and Maxwell Odden – from last year’s winning collective. Region 4’s Solen Chiodi and Michael Nguyen and Region 7’s Hasan Aydogdu, Adam Lakomy and Pierce Wolfgang were also in action last season and have once again been tapped to appear on the national stage.

The three released rosters include four current U.S. Junior National Team members – Chiodi, Green, Preston Ngai and Odden – and Level 9 (13-14) National Team member Nathan Roman in addition to an impressive group of up-and-coming talent, representing the next generation of collegiate and Team USA stars. Region 1 Elite Team Cup alumni include current Men’s Senior National Team member Riley Loos (El Dorado Hills, Calif./Stanford University) and Senior Development Team members Jeremy Bischoff (Santa Clarita, Calif./Stanford University) and Isaiah Drake (Los Angeles, Calif./U.S. Naval Academy). Olympian Shane Wiskus (Minneapolis, Minn./EVO Gymnastics) helmed the Region 4 team in 2017, and Stanford standout Khoi Young (Bowie, Md.) represented Region 7 from 2018-20.

In 2022, Region 1 clinched its first Elite Team Cup title, snapping Region 3’s six-year unbeaten streak. Region 7 finished sixth, and Region 4 was ninth.

While up to eight gymnasts from each region may travel to the Elite Team Cup, only six will ultimately be selected to compete. Provisional rosters from Regions 1, 4 and 7 are listed alphabetically. Remaining Elite Team Cup lineups will be announced in the coming weeks.
