posted on 10/01/2022

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 1, 2022) - The 2022 Men's World Team Selection Camp kicked off today at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Performances during competitions Monday and Wednesday will determine who will represent the U.S. alongside World individual medalists Brody Malone (Aragon, Ga./Stanford University) and Donnell Whittenburg (Baltimore, Md./Salto Gymnastics) at the upcoming Artistic Gymnastics World Championships October 29 - November 6 in Liverpool, England.

Malone and Whittenburg locked up team spots with top performances at last month's OOFOS U.S. Gymnastics Championships. An additional six gymnasts will vie for the remaining three openings. One traveling replacement athlete will also be named.

Reigning World pommel horse champion Stephen Nedoroscik (Worcester, Mass./Penn State University), 2022 NCAA all-around champion Paul Juda (Deerfield, Ill./University of Michigan) and current U.S. all-around bronze medalist Asher Hong (Tomball, Texas/Stanford University) are among the gymnasts hoping to sport the stars and stripes next month at M&S Bank Arena. They face tough competition from Olympians Yul Moldauer (Wellington, Colo./5280 Gymnastics) and Shane Wiskus (Spring Park, Minn./U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center), who have their sights set on a return to the world stage, and Stanford standout Colt Walker (Cedar Park, Texas).

The competition portions of camp will stream live on FlipNow Powered by USA Gymnastics, beginning Monday and Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. ET. Visit FlipNow.tv to learn more and subscribe. Live scoring will be available on MyUSAGym.com.
