INDIANAPOLIS, January 10, 2022 – The 2022 Nastia Liukin Cup Series kicked off over the weekend as two junior and two senior gymnasts punched their tickets to the Cup final slated for February 25 at Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas. The top finishers at the Brestyan’s Invitational and California Grand Invitational each secured one of 40 available spots in this year’s field.

Junior gymnasts Jayla Hang of Bellevue, Wash./Ascend Gymnastics Center and Carly Weinberg of Westerville, Ohio/Buckeye Gymnastics and seniors Selena Harris of Henderson, Nev./Gymcats Gymnastics and Jamison Sears of Yorktown, Va./World Class Gymnastics comprise the first four qualifiers of 2022.

In total, the Nastia Liukin Cup will feature 20 gymnasts in each division with additional participants determined through the remaining 18 invitationals set to take place across the country over the next six weeks, including next weekend’s Coaches Spectacular in Covington, Ky., Chow’s Winter Classic Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa, Kim Zmeskal’s Texas Prime Meet in Irving, Texas, Lady Luck Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev., Star Struck Invitational in Atlantic City, N.J., and Tampa Bay Turners Invitational in Palmetto, Fla.

This year marks the 13th edition of the annual event founded in 2010 by 14-time Olympic and World medalist Nastia Liukin.
