Employment Opportunity - Men's Junior High Performance Coordinator

Position Summary
The position of Men's Junior High Performance Coordinator is a full-time staff position with USA Gymnastics. The Junior High Performance Coordinator will oversee all aspects of the Men's Junior National Team program, including athlete and coach development, athlete health and wellness, training camps, strategic planning, and domestic and international competition preparation. The Men's Junior High Performance Coordinator will be under the direct supervision of the Men's High Performance Director.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Men's High Performance staff in setting the direction and strategic objectives for the Junior National Team program, following the initiatives set forth in the Men's High Performance Plan
  • Oversee all aspects of the Men's Level 8/9 National Team, Level 10 National Team and Development Team
  • Lead the planning and execution of all Level 8/9 National Team, Level 10 National Team and Development Team training camps
  • Attend Winter Cup, US Championships, National Qualifier, Development National Championships, Future Stars National Championships and other domestic competitions as required
  • Attend Junior international camps and competitions as assigned
  • Provide consistent communication with National Team athletes and coaches
  • Assist with educational aspects of the Men's Program as needed or assigned
  • Serve as an educational outreach resource to coaches and athletes for the Men's Program at National Team camps, development camps and educational workshops or seminars.
  • Maintain a complete working knowledge of men's FIG rules and U.S. Men's Development Program rules
  • Consistent communication and collaboration with USAG Men's Program staff, USAG medical staff, and USOPC Sports Performance staff
  • Be the direct report for the Junior National Coaching Staff and communicate the High Performance strategic plan and objectives to the JNCS members
Requirements and Competencies
  • Must have a strong coaching background including work at the elite levels of coaching and/or elite international competitive experience
  • Must have administrative experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint
  • Ability to plan, manage and execute National Team training camps and team meetings
  • Working knowledge of all facets and levels of the USA Gymnastics Men's Development Program as well as men's FIG rules
  • Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills
  • Able to effectively use video skill capture and analysis systems
  • Experience managing teams
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience working at the Junior Elite levels and/or working with Junior National Team athletes
  • Experience as a head coach or director preferred
  • Experience as a clinician, lecturer or presenter for Men's Program workshops and seminars
Other Information
  • This position often requires work in the evenings and on weekends
  • Position is remote, but domestic and international travel is expected and required
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience
