Summary Description
USA Gymnastics is a member driven organization, which necessitates a high level of trust between USAG and our members. The technology used to allow our members to purchase memberships, register for continuing education, and create reservations for competitions must be private, secure, and reliable.

The Web Application Developer participates in all aspects of USA Gymnastics' custom-built member management system, ensuring uptime, security, safety, and reliability for the entire membership base and USA Gymnastics staff.

Duties and Responsibilities
The developer will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and improving the USA Gymnastics member management system and external APIs;
  • Handling data export requests from various stakeholders;
  • Working with membership and program staff to envision, design, and create new functionality;
  • Working with outside vendors to integrate with USA Gymnastics meet reservation and scoring APIs;
  • Managing incoming data handling from various third-party LMSs and scoring providers;
  • Managing shopping cart functionality, financial transactions, and accounts reconciliation processes;
  • Maintaining data security and permission structures to ensure limited access and user privacy
Requirements and Competencies
  • 3+ years of object oriented programming (PHP preferred);
  • 3+ year SQL database experience (MySQL preferred);
  • Working knowledge of PHP, jQuery, CSS;
  • Experience with version control;
  • Experience web server configuration (AWS preferred);
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Able to meet aggressive deadlines;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to tackle problems effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment;
  • Self-starter who will take initiative with new projects and work with a variety of people
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or relevant experience
  • Experienceworking in technology, preferably in a non-profit or sports setting

  • Position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Salary and benefits commensurate with experience
  • Occasional weekend and after-hours work required
