Employment Opportunity - Events Coordinator (Contractor or Intern)

Summary Description
The Events Coordinator will be an 8-10 week contract position, serving through the conclusion of the U.S. Olympic Trials. The role will work closely with the Director of Event Operations, the Event Services Manager, and the Event Marketing Coordinator to assist in the pre-planning for events, with particular focus in the areas of awards, credentialing, registration, hospitality, volunteers and transportation. The Events Coordinator will travel to a number of events and assist onsite with registration, volunteers, hospitality and transportation.

The Events Coordinator will assist the Events Department in the following areas:
  • Managing the event volunteer registration system, as well as the volunteer check-in process and training onsite
  • Assist with managing the credentialing process before and during events
  • Support the Event Services Manager with awards and apparel, along with preparing all event supplies for each event
  • Assist the Event Services Manager with the registration office, which includes processing various items prior to the event and supporting the office onsite
  • Help with the master transportation plan for each event
  • Assist in coordinating all aspects of in-venue hospitality
  • Travel to and work at a number of our high-profile events
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point & Outlook
  • Passion for sport and the ideals of the Olympic Movement
  • Sports’ experience preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced, multidisciplinary team environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and tackle problems effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pro-actively problem solve
  • Ability to maintain a positive “can do” attitude under stress
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work weekends/holidays
  • Ability to multi-task; take initiative; be deadline-oriented; maintain confidentiality and work both as part of a team and independently
  • Experience with gymnastics preferred
Education and Experience
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience ideal
  • College students may also be considered
Other Information
  • This is a contract position with USA Gymnastics for a 10-week period
  • This is a full-time (40+ hour/week) position that will work remotely
  • Compensation and benefits commensurate with experience
  • Weekend work and extensive travel will be required
