Call for nominations for Programs Council representatives is now open

USA Gymnastics’ is inviting expressions of interest from individuals desiring to serve as Men’s Program Representative on the Programs Council. These two open positions will each serve a four-year term beginning January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2024.

The Programs Council provides a forum for the representatives to consider and offer perspectives on matters relating to (i) relevant operations and strategic development of USA Gymnastics, and (ii) the development of best practices and uniform criteria and guidelines for program administration that can be adopted by the National Program Committees.

Criteria to be considered:

  • Be a current professional member of the respective discipline.
  • Meet the criteria, expectations and time commitment outlined in USA Gymnastics Bylaws. Click here to see USAG Bylaws.
  • Must share USA Gymnastics’ commitment to athlete safety and well-being.
Program Council Member #1 specific:
  • Individual must be a current professional member; and
  • Must have coached a Level 10 Junior National Team member, Senior National Team member or been a member of the Men’s Program Committee within the last 8 years.
  • If a candidate does not meet the above criteria or no eligible candidates are nominated, the Men’s Program Committee may nominate a candidate with demonstrated ability and suitability for the position.
Program Council Member #2 specific:
  • Individual must be a current professional member;
  • Currently be working in a USA Gymnastics Member Club;
  • Must have been an active personal coach for an athlete who competed at the Winter Cup Challenge or U.S. Championships within the last 6 years.
Submissions should:
  • Specify Program Council Member #1 and/or #2,
  • Name of nominee/professional membership number,
  • Confirmation the nominee is willing to serve, and
  • Include a bio or CV.
Submit all items to Jason Woodnick, Vice President of Men’s Program at by Monday December 14.

After the nomination period is closed, the slate of nominees will be submitted to the USA Gymnastics Nominating and Governance Committee (NGC). Following a vetting process, the NGC will determine a final slate of candidates to stand for election to the Programs Council.

Men’s Program professional members will be eligible to vote consistent with the criteria and guidelines established by the Men’s Program Committee.

As provided in the Bylaws, no salary or other compensation shall be paid for volunteering as a Director or Chair.
