Summary Description
The Collegiate and NCAA Program Development Director will be a contract position that will drive the initiative for creating new men’s gymnastics programs at the collegiate level. This position will work collaboratively with the Collegiate Gymnastics Association (CGA) and USAG to find new opportunities for Division I, II, and III schools to provide men’s gymnastics programs.

Duties and Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for:

  • Researching and collecting data on potential schools and locations for new programs
  • Determining perceived and actual barriers to starting a new program and creating strategies to overcome those barriers
  • Creating business plans and proposals to present to school Athletic Directors and Presidents
  • Developing economic impact analyses
  • Finding potential partnership opportunities to be included in proposals
  • Traveling to campuses and attending conferences to meet with Athletic Directors, Presidents, and other decision-makers
  • Consistent follow-up with schools to oversee the implementation of new men’s gymnastics programs and potentially other programs in conjunction

Requirements and Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to Athletic Directors, University Presidents, and other key decision makers
  • Effective collaboration skills, including through transparent communication and work processes
  • Ability to create business proposals, which include key data points on demographics, economic needs and budgetary breakdowns
  • Proficiency with NCAA data sources and tools related to sponsorship, demographic, and financial information
  • Knowledge of the current collegiate sports landscape, including Olympic sports and specifically men’s gymnastics
  • Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules, Title IX legislation and university athletic department requirements
  • Understanding of the relationship between athletics recruitment and enrollment metrics
  • Motivated to help grow the sport of men’s gymnastics and create opportunities for student-athletes
  • Proficient PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom, Dropbox and similar products

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sports management, athletic administration, data analytics, or similar field required
  • Master’s degree in any of the above fields preferred
  • At least 10 years of experience working in college athletics as a coach or administrator
  • Experience working in collegiate gymnastics is not mandatory

Other Information

  • This is a contract position with USA Gymnastics for a one year period with the opportunity to renew
  • This is a full-time (40 hour/week) position that will work remotely. Some weekend work will be required
  • Travel will be required
  • Compensation commensurate with experience
