Carey, Nedoroscik win gold at 2020 World Cup in Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Australia, Feb. 22, 2020 – Jade Carey of Phoenix, Ariz./Arizona Sunrays and Stephen Nedoroscik of Worcester, Mass./Pennsylvania State University won gold for vault and pommel horse, respectively, at the International Gymnastics Federation’s World Cup in Melbourne, Australia. Held at the Melbourne Arena, the final day of event finals is Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3:00pm AEST/Saturday, Feb. 22 at 11:00pm EST. The event is part of the International Gymnastics Federation’s individual apparatus World Cup Series and the Olympic qualification process.

Carey earned the top spot in vault with a score of 14.866 ahead of France’s Coline Devillard who earned a 14.249. Shoko Miyata took home bronze to round out the top three with 14.149.

Nedoroscik’s score of 15.400 on pommel horse earned him the gold. Iran’s Saeedreza Keikha won silver with 15.033, and Kohei Kameyama of Japan placed third, garnering a score of 14.833.
