U.S. men’s team line-up for World Championships team final is finalized

STUTTGART, Germany, Oct. 8, 2019 – The line-up for the U.S. Men’s Team for the team final at the 2019 World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, has been finalized. The men will compete in the team final tomorrow at 1:45 p.m. local time. U.S.-based fans can watch the finals live at 7:45 a.m. ET on the Olympic Channel and online. There will be a delayed TV broadcast on NBCSN at 3 p.m. ET.

The members of the U.S. Men’s Team are: Trevor Howard of Columbus, Ohio/Ohio State University; Sam Mikulak of Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center; Akash Modi of Morganville, N.J./Stanford University; Yul Moldauer of Arvada, Colo./University of Oklahoma; Shane Wiskus of Spring Park, Minn./University of Minnesota; and Allan Bower of Chandler, Ariz./University of Oklahoma, traveling alternate.

The U.S. line-up is below. All three compete in the final and all three scores count.

Pommel horse: Modi, Moldauer, Mikulak
Still rings: Moldauer, Mikulak, Howard
Vault: Modi, Moldauer, Mikulak

The U.S. Team finished in seventh place in the qualification rankings with a 250.359 team total. The team scores by event were: floor exercise, 41.265; pommel horse, 39.065; still rings, 41.533; vault, 43.165; parallel bars, 43.266; and horizontal bar, 42.065. Russia had the best team score of 259.928, followed by China at 258.354 and Japan with 258.026.

The remaining finals schedule is: Oct. 9, men’s team, 1:45 p.m.; Oct. 10, women’s all-around, 4 p.m.; Oct. 11, men’s all-around, 4 p.m.; Oct. 12, event finals (men – floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings; women – vault, uneven bars), 4 p.m.; and Oct. 13, event finals (men – vault, parallel bars, horizontal bar; women – balance beam, floor exercise), 1 p.m. All times are local to Stuttgart.
