General Description
The Vice President of the Men’s Program is responsible for overseeing the strategic development and administration of all aspects of the Men’s Program. This individual will be responsible for execution of the strategic goals, budget management, oversight of the Junior Olympic, Xcel, and Elite Programs, administration of the National Team, grassroots development and coordination with the volunteer committee structure. This position will report to the Chief Programs Officer.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional leadership, vision and oversight for USA Gymnastics’ Men’s Program
  • Develop and oversee the annual Men’s Program budget
  • Proactively communicate goals, vision and strategy of the program to relevant stakeholders
  • Proactively listen to and seek feedback from the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) community
  • Coordinate development of annual high performance plan, including activities of the National Team and athlete development pipeline
  • Provide oversight and direction for the High Performance Director and National Staff
  • Establish a strong supportive and collaborative relationship between the USA Gymnastics administration, National Team coaches, the MAG athletes, and other personnel
  • Work in partnership with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship in areas such as athlete benefits, high performance plans, International Games strategy, Selection Procedures, etc.
  • Oversee and facilitate the Resident Athlete program at the US Olympic and Paralympic Training Center
  • Assist in development of and implement selection procedures for major international competitions
  • Guide Men’s Program international relations initiatives
  • Ensure anti-doping compliance with the appropriate regulatory bodies
  • Facilitate the organization of training camps and other domestic and international activities
  • Provide support programs for athletes, coaches, clubs, and administrators
  • Identify ways to grow and develop grassroots activities within Men’s program, including oversight of the Junior Olympic Program
  • Select sites and monitor contracts for national-level competitions, judge’s courses, and camps
  • Coordinate all technical aspects of the Men’s program competitions
  • Coordinate judging clinics, testing and advancement of judges, and maintenance of judges’ records
  • Develop materials for USA Gymnastics University and presentations for Congress to benefit the gymnastics community and growth of the sport
  • Serve as the public spokesperson for Men’s program, as necessary
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements and Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Have experience in and exceptional working knowledge of Men’s Artistic Gymnastics
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment
  • Proven strong leadership and project management skills
  • Ability to make decisions and problem solve
  • Must have attention to detail while also being able to stay focused on the overall strategic direction
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to produce and adhere to budget specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 10 years managerial experience

Other Information

  • This position often requires work in the evenings and over the weekend
  • Domestic and international travel is expected and required
  • Position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Salary commensurate with experience
