Men’s national team training camp kicks off today

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., May 22, 2019 – The U.S. Senior Men’s National Team and the six juniors who qualified from the recent U.S. Junior Olympic National Championships are participating in the May training camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. The camp also serves as the final selection camp for the U.S. Teams for the 2019 Junior World Championships in Gyor, Hungary, and the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.

Three athletes, plus a traveling alternate, will be selected for the 2019 Junior World Team. The six junior athletes who qualified for consideration for the team from the 2019 Junior Olympic National Championships in Reno, Nev., are listed below. The Junior World Championships are slated for June 27-30. The USA qualified to send a team at last year’s Junior Pan American Championships.

The seven senior athletes who are vying for a position on the five-man 2019 Pan American Games Team are listed below. The United States qualified for the Pan Am Games last year at the Senior Pan American Championships. Competition in men’s and women’s gymnastics in Lima is slated for July 27-31.

Brett McClure, the men’s high-performance director, is overseeing the camp’s activities. Both the Junior World and Pan Am Games teams will be announced at the conclusion of the camp.
