INDIANAPOLIS, May 1, 2019 – Twenty-five members of the U.S. Women’s National Team are expected to participate in the May training camp that begins May 3 at EVO Athletics in Sarasota, Fla.

The primary objective for the May camp is assisting athletes and coaches in preparing for team selection for the Junior World Championships, Pan American Games and the World Championships in the coming months.

The camp’s schedule begins with physical abilities on Friday, with verification of vault and floor exercise on Saturday and the uneven bars and balance beam on Sunday, along with flexibility. Camp will conclude on Monday morning.

“May is the beginning of a very busy season for our athletes,” said Tom Forster, the high-performance team coordinator for the women’s national team. “We are excited to compete in the inaugural Junior World Championships in June, and July’s Pan Am Games is an important competition for our seniors. Also, the athletes and their coaches are preparing for the American Classic, the GK U.S. Classic and the U.S. Championships. This camp provides time for the national staff to help gymnasts with their preparations and bond as a team.”
