December 21, 2018 – The USA Gymnastics trampoline and tumbling program is pleased to announce the national coaching and support staff for 2019. The six will lead the training and preparation programs for national team training camps and international events next year.

The members of the 2019 national coaching staff are listed below.

  • Trampoline senior national coach: Nuno Merino
  • Trampoline junior national coach: Steven Gluckstein
  • Trampoline high-performance coordinator: Dustin LeNorman
  • Tumbling national coach: Becky Brown
  • Double-mini trampoline national coach: Chelsea Rainer
  • Sports science coordinator: Dian Nissen
“We are excited to have this qualified and respected group of individuals support our athletes through 2019,” said Jacqui Godfrey, director for USA Gymnastics trampoline and tumbling program. “I am looking forward to working with them to continue to pursue excellence across all of the trampoline and tumbling disciplines in a safe, positive and encouraging environment.”

In 2019, Merino and Gluckstein are serving in their second consecutive term in these roles. Brown and Rainer, who are long-time USA Gymnastics coaches, are new to their positions. Both served as the head coach for their respective disciplines at the 2019 World Championships.

Nissen, who holds a Master of Science degree in health education and exercise science from the University of Iowa, has a successful career as a fitness professional and health educator. She will focus on providing sports science education and assistance to the tumbling and double-mini athletes and coaches, as well as developmental trampoline athletes.

LeNorman is the associate athletic director of sports medicine at Sam Houston State University and has worked with the trampoline and tumbling team for many years as an athletic trainer. In addition to continuing his athletic trainer responsibilities at camps and events, LeNorman will also serve as the trampoline high-performance coordinator for the senior national trampoline team members.
