Start Your Background Check Today!

As the new season approaches it is important to remind everyone that Background Checks are now mandatory for all USA Gymnastics Professional Members.

In keeping with the standards set by the United States Olympic Committee, as well as many youth sports organizations, schools and recreational programs in America today, USA Gymnastics has implemented a background screening process to help ensure a safe and secure environment for our members and all gymnastics participants. This process also includes all USA Gymnastics employees, Board members, and volunteers.

Effective December 2007 background checks became mandatory for all new and renewing professional members. USA Gymnastics is proud to announce a working partnership with the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) through which we will engage in a comprehensive background screening program, USA Gymnastics has partnered with the National Center for Safety Initiatives in order to complete the checks.

The background check normal processing time is 3 to 4 weeks, therefore USA Gymnastics Member Services Department urges all Professional members to start their background check at least 3 to 4 weeks prior to their membership renewal date and/or the date they must be on the floor at a USA Gymnastics sanctioned event.

For more information and to start the background check process please click here.

Please feel free to contact Member Services at 1-800-345-4719 or email membership@usa-gymnastics.org with any questions.

If you have completed your background check, Thank You, and don't forget to remind a friend.
