Trampoline and tumbling athletes to compete in U.S. Elite Challenge, April 18-19, in Mobile, Ala.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., April 18, 2008 - 2007 U.S. trampoline champions Chris Estrada of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Brittany Dircks of Belford, N.J., are among the USA-s top trampoline and tumbling athletes who will compete in the 2008 U.S. Elite Challenge, April 18-19, at the Mobile Civic Center Arena in Mobile, Ala. The U.S. Elite Challenge is the second of four qualifying events to determine which man and woman will represent the USA at the 2008 Olympic Games.

In addition to Estrada and Dircks, the other 2007 U.S. senior elite champions competing in the Winter Classic are: women - Alaina Williams of Colorado Springs, Colo., synchronized trampoline; and men - Logan Dooley of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Steven Gluckstein of Atlantic Highlands, N.J., synchronized trampoline. Also competing are Alaina Hebert of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Erin Blanchard of Colorado Springs, Colo., the U.S. trampoline champions in 2005 and 2006.

Three senior elite champions from the 2007 U.S. Elite Challenge are competing: women - Williams, trampoline; and Sarah Prosen of Apple Valley, Minn., double mini-trampoline; and men - Estrada, trampoline and synchronized trampoline.

The U.S. Elite Challenge features competition in senior, junior and Level 10 divisions in four events: trampoline, synchronized trampoline, double mini-trampoline and tumbling. Competition begins on Friday, April 18, at 10 a.m. with prelims and finals in men's and women's synchronized trampoline, followed by prelims in men's and women's trampoline at 2 p.m. The last day of the U.S. Elite Challenge on Saturday, April 19, has competition beginning at 10 a.m. with double mini-trampoline and tumbling prelims, followed by double mini and tumbling finals at 2:30 p.m. The event wraps up with trampoline finals beginning at 5:45 p.m.
