Trampoline & Tumbling Regional Realignment
posted on 10/16/2017

The USA Gymnastics Trampoline and Tumbling program has an important update for all trampoline and tumbling members, regarding the realignment of T&T regions from January 2018.

From January 2018, the following changes will come into effect:

  • Colorado will move from Region 3 to Region 1
  • Kansas will move from Region 3 to Region 4
  • Arkansas and Louisiana will move from Region 3 to Region 5
There are several reasons for this change. Currently Region 3 is over 800 members larger than the next largest region, and over 2½ times as large as the smallest two regions. Reallocating some states into neighboring regions will allow for six more similarly sized regions, in turn helping create more consistent growth across the USA, allowing more regions to be nationally competitive, and alleviating some negative effects of both large and small numbers on regional events.

USA Gymnastics understands that in the short term this change may be challenging to members used to identifying with a given region, and is available to assist with any questions. This decision was made with careful consideration of a wide range of factors, and the resulting reallocation will be important for the long-term growth and sustainability of the T&T program.
