USA is competing in two international rhythmic events this weekend

INDIANAPOLIS, May 6, 2016 – Four U.S. rhythmic gymnasts are competing in international competition. Camilla Feeley of Highland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, and Lili Mizuno of Brentwood, Calif./Community Youth Center, are competing in the senior and junior competition, respectively, at the 2016 International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament in Corbeil-Essonnes, France. Evita Griskenas of Orland Park, Ill., and Karine Denisova of Wilmette, Ill., both with North Shore Rhythmic Center, are competing in Brno, Czech Republic, at the Brno Grand Prix and Junior Tart Cup, respectively.

Feeley is currently fifth in the senior all-around standings at the halfway point, and Mizuno is ranked third in the junior all-around after two of four events. The all-around concludes on Saturday, May 7, with the individual event finals on Sunday.

Feeley’s 33.633 landed her in fifth place after two events. The Ukraine’s Ganna Rizatdinova is in first with 37.149. Azerbaijan’s Marina Durunda is second at 35.816, with Belarus’ Elena Bolotina in third with 35.349. Russia’s Polina Khonina was fourth at 33.899. Feeley’s event scores were 16.733 for hoop and 16.900 for ball.

In the junior competition, Mizuno posted a 30.616 at the mid-point of the all-around. Belarus’ Alina Harnasko is ranked first with 32.216, followed by Israel’s Natalie Raits at 30.800. Mizuno’s event scores were 15.216 for rope and 15.400 for hoop.

Brno Grand Prix and Junior Tart Cup
Griskensas will compete on Saturday in the Grand Prix. At the Junior Tart Cup, Denisova was sixth in the all-around and qualified for three of the event finals on Sunday.
