Hernandez adds four medals at International Junior Japan Meet

A day after Hernandez won the all-around crown in Yokohama, she posted the top score on the vault with a 14.566, tying Japan’s Kiko Kuwajima. Foberg recorded a 14.266 for bronze. On the bars, Russia’s Anastasia Iliankova edged Hernandez 15.166 to 14.833 for the title. Natsumi Hanashima of Japan was third. China’s Tingting Liu won the balance beam title with a 14.800, while Hernandez took the silver (14.633). Foberg was third, posting a 13.900. Hernandez closed her day with a gold medal on the floor exercise and a score of 14.933. Canada’s Megan Roberts was second with a 13.900, followed by Japan’s Koko Dobashi (13.766). Foberg finished seventh in the floor final.
In the men’s competition, Bock, who won the all-around bronze medal yesterday, added to his haul with a third place finish on the pommel horse. He scored a 14.200 behind China’s Jingyuan Zou, 14.500, and Japan’s Kakeru Tanigawa, 14.450. Bock recorded fourth place finishes on vault (13.775) and parallel bars (14.100), was fifth on the high bar, posting a 13.250, and seventh on the still rings, 13.700. Davis Grooms of Katy, Texas/Champions Gymnastics, finished eighth on floor (13.350) and pommel horse (13.400) and ninth on high bar (11.650).
