Kaloyanov’s 19.80 landed her in first place, with Korea’s Hye Onji Kim taking the silver with a score of 19.45. Based on her winning performance, Kaloyanov, who was a 2014 Aerobic Gymnastics World Age Group Competitions silver medalist, becomes a strong medal contender for the 2016 World Championships next summer.

Hayley Bonanti, who is also from Gymnastics World and a 2014 USA gold medalist in Age Group 1, narrowly missed the bronze medal, finishing behind athletes from Korea and Japan. Bonanti is still considered a strong candidate to represent the USA at the 2016 World Championships.

This year’s field included current World Aerobic Gymnastics champions whose routines demonstrated the highest level of this unique and challenging discipline, along with many other top athletes with the promise of World Aerobic Gymnastics medals in their future.

The International Aerobic Championship is organized annually in the USA and recognized around the world as the “grand daddy” of all aerobic gymnastic championships. Aerobic gymnastics marries technical execution and artistic choreography to popular music in a 90-second routine.
