Bill Cosby schedules benefit concert to support Temple men's gymnastics

Legendary comedian Bill Cosby is holding a benefit concert for the Temple University’s men’s gymnastics program, which was dropped from the school’s varsity program last December. The Cosby show will be held at the Independence Visitor Center at 6th and Marker Streets on Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
The team is raising money to support the program going forward. With the help of Cosby, a Temple alumnus and Philadelphia native, the program is well on its way to surviving another year.
A minimum of $200,000 is needed to operate as a club program, but Temple men’s gymnastics head coach Fred Turoff is confident the money will be raised.
Tickets for the benefit concert run from $500 to $175 for the event, and the highest-priced seats have already sold out. In addition to the concert, interested individuals may also donate directly to the Temple Men’s Gymnastics Fund.
