Retired gymnastics coach McBride died Dec. 29

Ruth Ann Inskip McBride, 72, of Estero, Fla., died Dec. 29, 2013. In the gymnastics community, she is best known for running the National Summer Palaestrum Camp and as the founder/owner of MarVaTeens in Rockville, Md. McBride coached 1972 Olympian Roxanne Pierce. She also served as the secretary for the National Junior Olympic Committee and was the Regional Administration Committee Chair for Region VII. Most recently, she was a realtor in southwest Florida and developed a housing community in Estero called The Ultimate Ski Lake.

Born April 1, 1941, in Champaign, Ill., McBride is survived by her brother, John Inskip, and her children: Deborah McBride-Morphy (Pat) and their two sons; Scott McBride (Susie) and their two children; Louis McBride (Sue) and their three children; and Troy McBride (Kathi) and their son.
